How did I get here?

My brain is a never-ending conversation…my heart is full of joy…but both are trapped in an introverted personality. If you add to that, moving to a new country, becoming a wife and a mother, all in the same year at the age of 33…introverted is an understatement. I was invisible!!! I thought that opening a Facebook account would give me the opportunity to mend the gap between who I was and what people perceived of me in my new home. Indeed Facebook helped me build relationships with my new American family, community…but with a price tag. You see, being raised in the peaceful Portuguese islands of Azores, and having lived there most of my life, the word bullying was a very abstract concept to me. In time I discovered that in my new country bullying is a very real presence… and Facebook is its favorite playground. So I turned my back to Facebook, and my need to communicate brought me here – Only in September of 2016 I started posting regularly and building connections. My community is yet a very tiny seed, but packed with rich flavors.

My advise?

I need more advise than I can give…

What I found it is bringing some bloggers to check my “space” is to respond to the WordPress Picture and Word Prompts.

My Nominees

  1. Beautifully written. Indeed, WordPress is a friendly, positive place to find friends. I have blogger friends to talk with in the morning, and others to talk with at night, because they are all over the globe. Congratulations for completing your acceptance. I understand what you meant about FB. I’m not active with it either. Keep blogging and you’ll find many friends! Keep in touch!

  2. I totally agree for the fact that wordpress community is a happy community. 🙂 Good wishes and happy writing! Like your blog title says, “Its the little things!”.

Thank you so much for the nomination. It’s an honor. I will do this sometime soon.. 🙂

  3. Hi Hi Hi! Thanks so much for linking to my silly little shamble of a blog! I, uh, left a reply to your comment there, but since I’m new enough that I’m not sure how this works I might as well scribble something here too, if that’s ok.

Basically, I have no idea what’s going on (both here, and in the world in general). Do I have to now reciprocate or start a list of my own or burn an incense candle to a dead ancestor or something? I’m so bad at this stuff!

But I’m flattered nonetheless, so thanks again! 🙂

  4. I am laughing so hard right now!!! I think the “burning of incense candle to a dead ancestor” is absolutely mandatory!!! (just kidding and laughing still!!!).

I think you already did all you needed to do: – You made me laugh again! 😉
